What you can expect

 

  • Easy to follow comprehensive training courses designed to accommodate everyone from the first time boatie to the more experienced.
  • An excellent online learning course – at no upfront cost – where you study in your own time and at your own pace.
  • A theory refresher session with the trainer before you are asked to do the theory assessment multi choice questions.
  • A “Safe Boating in Queensland” Workbook to keep for future reference.
  • Small practical class sizes – less pressure for our students – and more time to practice your skills. We can seat 3 students plus the trainer but usually limit the number on the boat to 4.
  • A 4.5 metre side console speedboat with bimini for shelter. There is comfortable seating for up to 4 and it is powered by a Suzuki 40hp outboard motor.
  • For those doing the jet ski licence course, we run a Sea Doo GTX170 jet ski, renowned for handling, ride, stability and simplicity of controls.
  • Our professional reputation and experience, a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere, thorough and well run courses and value for money.
  • Generous practical time on the water. We give you plenty of time to learn the skills you need plus you get the benefit of extensive local knowledge. I used to patrol these waterways – day and night – so you will be very well trained.

  • For those doing the jet ski licence course, we run a Kawasaki Ultra LX jet ski, renowned for handling, ride, stability and simplicity of controls.

Based in Cairns, Paul usually does Theory Training and Written Assessment(8am Start) – 2 Hussar Close Kanimbla then move to Practical Training and Assessment at “The Sugar Terminal Boat Ramp”  which is located on Trawler Base Road(google maps that), Cairns. Courses can be organised as far south as Tully/Mission Beach and north to remote Cape York  if requested-these courses will require groups of people and will be priced according to numbers and travel requirements – Ring me for a quote. Can do during week if willing to do early morning pracs-6-7am start (with theory test done afternoon before-afterwork)-Ring me! – so START THE ONLINE NOW!  – So you are ready for written test and practical on the preferred date. Dates on LOCATIONS page Don’t like online training – do the Face to Face Course – Costs more(QUOTE only) and takes same time as online. Flexible Training OPTION – can do Face to Face(quote on numbers-Again ONLINE preferred) after hours. ✓ If you don't have access to a licensed person and suitable vessel for further on-water time to hone your skills, our trainer and vessel are available for $220/hour inc gst - ring to discuss your options.

  • Never driven a boat - If possible find a licensed person and suitable vessel to take you out for the experience before turning up on practical day. It is not ideal to turn up with no experience at all - if your a confident hands on person you probably will have no issues at all.
  • Note: Remote travel(eg Cape York) will incur extra cost due to Travel, Wear & Tear & Accommodation.
  • Pricing for Face to Face in Classroom Training(You don't like devises for training)Note: Safe Boating in QLD Book Included in Face to Face : Ring for quote - Cost depends on numbers as is time consuming(same or more than online 6 Hours).
    NOTE: Online Training is preferred.
